Why study at Riverside Music College?
This BSc in Audio Engineering is open to eligible students who have completed an HND in Sound Production at Riverside.
This course is co-delivered by Riverside Music College and Perth College UHI, with teaching and assessment carried out by staff from both institutions.
Successful applicants will be University of Highlands & Islands students hosted at Riverside for this year of study, with data being held as such.
Industry accredited by the Music Producers Guild (MPG), UK Screen and associated industry bodies.
The students and Staff of Riverside Music College are held in high regard by Universities and employers; we always aim to deliver the best possible and most relevant learning experience, utilising our extensive equipment and recording areas.
Our students have a working, practical knowledge not only of the latest digital approach to audio, through use of Ableton Live and Pro Tools software, but also analogue, through our comprehensive, hybrid studio facilities, enabling them to utilise the best of both analogue and digital worlds.
Audio engineering students also have the benefit of working alongside our Music Performance students, enabling them to forge links with Scotland’s next generation of musical talent. This creates an invaluable environment in which to work as we foster key networking skills between both disciplines, and ensures that the work produced in-house is of the highest possible quality as students from across our courses liaise and support each other.
Core modules are:
- Themed research project
- Entrepreneurship
- Audio systems theory
- Advanced digital audio applications
Plus two optional modules selected from:
- Live event audio
- Multi-track mix-down techniques
- Audio for cinematic and game production 2
Entry requirements
HND Sound Production with an A or B pass in Graded Unit
